As we are traveling without cell phones for a majority of our trip, we decided to purchase the Delorme inReach – a locator device that, when activated, will send a ‘ping’ every 10 minutes with your GPS coordinates. There is a button for SOS, in case you are in trouble, so that the local emergency services will know your latest position and can help. In addition, there’s a map feature that displays your route so friends and family can follow along.

To view a particular day or route, click on my name (Lana), then the arrow, and then you can see the different routes and days that we have traveled. You can then select which one you’d like to view.
