This is a series in which I describe a typical Tuesday during our travels. This will give you an idea of what we do on an average day – sometimes exciting and sometimes mundane.
Tuesday, March 21, 2017: Cape Town, South Africa
6:18am – Woke up hot, looked at clock, went back to sleep.
7:34am – Woke up hot again and decided to stay up since I couldn’t get any more sleep. It was another rough night of sleeping – the apartment was way too hot and it was way too noisy outside. Sat in my pajamas at the table and started downloading some more pictures and videos from our phones and cameras. Jon worked on postcards, his journal, and played some video games.

11:13am – Showered and got dressed.
11:56am – Left the apartment and walked a few blocks to Bacon on Bree to have a late breakfast/early lunch. I ordered a fresh orange juice, latte, and the Breakfast Club bowl (poached egg, halloumi cheese, mushrooms, bacon, avocado, and rocket sitting on a slice of sourdough). Jon ordered a coffee and pastrami sandwich.

12:42pm – Walked back to the apartment. We started packing up our bags since we would be leaving for Thailand the next day.
3:45pm – Walked to the liquor store on our block and bought a few beers and Amarula. Drank said beers and Amarula, with a snack of bacon cheese straws (not as tasty as you would expect) while working on journals, postcards, pictures downloading, and other miscellaneous tasks around the apartment. Got most of our things packed, aside from what we would need that evening and the next morning.

7:43pm – Walked to Jerry’s Burger Bar for dinner. I ordered my usual: Greed burger (patty stuffed with chorizo and tomato, topped with cheese, bacon, and an egg). Jon ordered his usual, the Junk Yard hot dog, but they were out of hot dogs. So he chose the Wrath burger (patty stuffed with habanero tomato relish and cheese, topped with slaw).
The Greed burger was so large that I always ate it with a knife and fork.
9:25pm – Walked to the Beer Haus and sat at the bar. Ordered two different beers each so we could try a variety (they have 99 beers on tap). Admired the Bender mural by the bathroom.
Jon loved the Bender mural at the Beer Haus.
10:57pm – Walked back to the apartment and got ready for bed. Had trouble falling asleep due to the heat and noise.
